Ended up taking my Spirit GT off the road for several reasons (not gonna get into em here)...needed to replace it w/something cheap, decent (20-30mpg) on gas, & most importantly, something I like!!  The result (thank you Craigslist) is a 1991 Eagle Premier ES, in my opinion, one of the best vehicles AMC/Renault never sold!!  Roomy, great handling, awsome ride & decent (for a Renault) power.  if AMC had managed to hold off Chrysler's advances, between the 4WD surge in the 1990's, & the Premier's platform, they might still be around today!!!  It's well documented that the LH platform developed by Chrysler borrowed heavily from the Premier, & was even built at the same plant in Bramalea, Ontario...sigh...what might have been....well, I feel as I now own one of the last vehicles designed & engineered by AMC...wonder if I'd be welcome at AMC shows with it??? Wink

Hard to say if it would be.  IMO it is part of the North American AMC Heritage, at the least and should be welcomed by astute AMC'ers.
