A couple original business cards which recently sold on eBay. This dealership had to be the closest one to AMC headquarters on Plymouth Rd.

11600 Telegraph Rd
Redford, MI 48239

EDIT: eBay listing no longer available.- admin

Yes, Coon Bros. from the address appears very close.  I wonder if they got a lot of "try out" stuff since they were nearby?

If I am not mistaken, Coon Bros. had an AMC racing thing going on too....

Yes, I have seen reproduction Javelin Racing Team stickers which include the Coon Bros. name. Must have had factory backing.

We lost the original eBay listing before the picture could be saved, but the dealership is mentioned on this CJ page at Offroaders.com:

http://www.offroaders.com/album/shows/All-Breeds/07-2008/Bob-Millen-1976-CJ-5.htm

The owner of the Jeep shown went to Coon Bros to find a Jeep, but they didn't have what he wanted, so he went down the road to

Greenfield in Detroit.   He gives the location of Coon Bros as Plymouth and Telegraph Roads.

No sooner did I put up the last post and get it archived over at Route66Rambler.com, than Route 66 Rambler Member idigramblers came in and uploaded this nice photo of the showroom at Coon Bros in 1962...

Thanks a lot, Doug!!

-mike

EDIT:  He came right back and added the reverse side of the photo as well...

No real new info, but it definitely places the photo in 1962.

Great stuff here.
