Wheeler Motors of Grants Pass, Oregon (really nasty drive in the winter). Picture from 1963.  Sent to me by Eddie Stakes.

They're still here, but they've been a Toyota dealership for a long time now.  They just moved into a new facility last year, right on Redwood Hwy, so you don't need to actually go into downtown to get to them anymore.

Got the picture back in place for you.  Had to dig it up and get it uploaded again.

Here's what else I can tell you about that place.  What you are looking at is the intersection of 6th street (left to right) which is old Highway 99 in the middle of town, and K street (top to bottom).  I can't tell the exact year of the picture, but Wheeler eventually bought out the building next door to consolidate the block, then they expanded their facilities into that area.  I believe the white brick building was torn down, as the footprint is in the wrong place for what they ended up with.  They had the parking section of the lot extended the entire length from I street to K street.  When they moved last year, one of the area's big developers bought the place and tore out the shop facilities, then he built what I believe is a new building in the area where that white building is shown, which is currently home to a mattress store.  Looking at the picture, I'm not sure that any of the old dealership building had still been there anymore because the placement doesn't look right.  Their building had been oriented parallel to K street (end-on to 6th street) and right down the middle of the property, maybe a little more toward I street.  I used to deliver parts to them when I worked for the local Chevy dealership, and their parts department had been back about where the middle of the showroom is there.  If that was the old building, it was heavily modified and added onto the newer facility.  What's truly ironic is that the bank that I currently work for used to have its office in a building on this property, which I think was where the dealership is located in this picture- unless it was in the white brick building on the right side.  I can't tell for sure without the front of the building being in view.  This is actually the best picture I've seen of this block of town dating back this far.  Thanks for putting it back up!
