I have registered a new domain name at AMCHeritage.org

This is planned future home for The AMC Heritage Forum, but for now the Forum will remain where it is, until I can figure out how to handle the hundreds of links that go to this page, and get them to go over to the new place.  Especially the Lost Dealerhship Project.

I wanted to do this when I first opened the Forum, but at the time nobody had any idea whether it would take off, I guess the same idea has failed badly before, so I wasn't really very optimistic about it.

Now I would like to move The AMC Heritage Forum onto its own domain, named after the Forum.

There will be no hurry, and it might never happen at all, unless I can figure out how to send all those links over to the new place.

I NEED suggestions and advice on how to make this work.   Letting the forum tag along on my web site's domain was a good idea to get the thing up and going, but now it's big enough that it needs its own place.  If it turns out to be impossible to make the move, then the main web site for Route 66 Rambler will be closing down to make room for The AMC Heritage Forum.  I would leave the Open Library Project in place, but the rest has got to be on a different site than the Forum for traffic, space and speed reasons.

Well, if nothing else, I can just move the web site over there, and just keep the forum where it is.  I think I'll probably just do that, probably easiest in the long run.  The forum thing is complicated.

with the web site it's just me, so I can make quicker decisions, and nobody else is really affected by it.

So as Rosanne Rosanna Danna used to say, "Never mind!".  Grin

Sounds like a good compromise.

That was Gilda Radner's character. Sadly, she died from cancer far too young. She was in the same SNL cast as John Belushi, Chevy Chase, Dan Akroyd, Jane Curtain, and Garret Morris. No Cast has EVER equalled the comedic genius of this one!
