In August of 1939, Land-Speed record holder John Cobb, an Englishman, set a AAA Class C speed record at Bonnevile with a 1940 Hudson 8.

I guess 90+ in a '40 Hudson is tougher than it sounds, because this guy drove the Red Lion over 400 MPH before anybody else got there.  You'd think he'd need a real hairy ride to get his blood going.
