They probably do not realize how the Intrepid is tied to AMC; a the roots lie there.

Maybe they assume it was mere coincidence that R/W/B was chosen for the car. Although it was really a tribute to Team Penske and not AMC, the paint scheme was purposely chosen to replicate the look of the Matadors. At least it wasn't used on a Monte Carlo, or a Camry!  Shocked

IIRC the Intrepid was a result of AMC planning before the take over merger.  Or is that an urban myth?

Man, I watch every NASCAR race and didn't even notice the paint scheme. I deserve 40 lashes for not noticing. I was probably to busy trashing Jeff Gordan and Jimmie Johnson to notice Grin.
